Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Muslim countries and India Universal Declaration of Human Rights is a reinterpretation of the highest ethical values of mankind for the New World. All of us need a set of freedom and rights and very important is freedom to practice our religion and freedom to live according to our culture.In any multi-religious country Muslims should have freedom to have beard and their women should have freedom to observe purdah and they must have freedom to build their mosques and to give call of Azan and perform prayers there. This freedom is being curtailed and denied in many countries in consequence of Islamophobia in the post 9/11 World. No Muslim State must force Muslim women to observe purdah and Muslim men to have beard and perform prayers as is being done in Saudi Arabia and Iran and is being attempted by Talibans and Boko Haram etc. In every Muslim country, other Muslim sects like Ahmadiyas and people of other faith like Hindus and Bahais must have freedom to build their places of worship and freedom to assemble there and worship as they wish. It is a common misunderstanding among Muslims that Islam spread by conquest of other countries. Majority of Muslim countries and majority of Muslim population of other countries is not result of forced conversion- they embraced Islam because they found Truth and Good in it and they found practicing Muslims kind hearted and honest to the core. The usurpers of Caliphate used banner of Islam to invade and conquer countries. The basic theory of Islam is that Allah sent His Books to every people and all people have lost or distorted their Book. So the people with Books- Jews and Christians were not forced to accept Islam- they had freedom to live and practice their religion and had to pay Jizya- there is nothing abhorring in it- every State levies tax and perhaps citizens of modern States pay greater amount of tax than Jaziya and Muslims had to pay 2.5 percent Zakat. The people who did not have Books were forced to accept Islam or fight or move away. Those who fought and got captured they were killed everywhere but Muslims again gave chance to save life if person embraces Islam. This is called spread of Islam by sword at point of death- it was not point of death, it was leash of life. Even this fighting was not possible where invading Muslim armies were small number among huge population as of India- so it was conveniently accepted that Hindus are people of Books and they will have to pay Jaziya and Brahmans were exempted even from it and only Aurangzeb levied Jaziya upon Brahmans and so they unleashed propaganda against him. The propaganda mill has been working since ancient times. Some Muslim rulers did excesses and cruelty against Hindus and they did against Shias too. But many Muslim rulers tried to rule with justice and promoted whatever was Indian. Even Aurangzeb gave grants to many temples. The Muslim rulers gave due honour to Hindu priests and scholars and did not demolish temples as so many standing ancient temples are evidence. Some Muslim zealots under pressure from clergy coming from Arab and other countries tried to force Islam and religious fury of some was directed against Buddhists who were described as atheists by Brahmans close to Muslim rulers. This is why no temple remains were found in Ayodhya and only Buddhist remains were found. Buddhist and Jain religious sites were demolished by Brahmanist kings of ancient India and thus any such site Babri Masjid was built. The Muslim rulers did not interfere in religious practices and customs of Hindus and did not go against untouchability, child marriage and suttee because they believed all this is according to Books of God. The common Muslims who were converted from Hindus lived peacefully with Hindus and many beliefs and customs were shared by them. Thus Muslims ruled for eight hundred years without any mutiny. It was the British who interfered in Brahman practices that led to 1857. The Muslims were in the forefront and were crushed brutally by British. At this juncture, lots of wealthy and educated Hindus became pro-British and when days of freedom came near they became anti-Muslim and spread lies against Muslims and Islam- educated Hindu and British have joined hands. This anti-Muslim and anti-Islam propaganda mill is active since then. This led to assassination of Mahatma Gandhi and then to demolition of Babri Masjid. There is caste-animosity too that will cause great damage to our national life. It is for young generation of Hindus and Muslims and upper caste, backwards and Dalits to think anew and join hands to implement Universal Declaration of Human Rights and bring all criminals and conspirators to justice and ban all communal and extremist organizations and propaganda and build a New India where every child has opportunities to rise in his or her field of interest and every young man and woman has right and freedom to choose his or her life partner with mutual consent.
